Discussing the importance of outdoor play for children's early social, psychological and physical development. Also covering the tendency for parents today to not use critical judgement and turning a blind eye to intuition. Parents are out of tune with their natural instincts. Media hype is creating irrational paranoia in parents. Children's happiness in play should be the focus instead of academic achievement or potential future careers. Children learn best from experience and therefore the outdoors is the best science lesson. Parents need to allow children the opportunity to discover their own passions and they can do that by providing plenty of opportunity for free unstructured outdoor play.
