BARKING MAD or just plain bad?

Below are some quotes taken from the article in the link regarding the new madness now suffered by the developed world. My thoughts and opinions at the bottom.

'But, while there are no official figures, other stories are emerging of children — some in their late teens — not only dressing up as creatures such as cats and dogs in school, but also demanding to be addressed by teachers and pupils as animals.

There are reports that some are barking or howling in class, while others are being led around the corridors on dog leads.
Yet far from clamping down on such bizarre behaviour, some teachers appear to be actively endorsing these new ‘identities’ and will reprimand other children as ‘bullies’ if they don’t do the same.'
‘We recently heard of one school in the North where at least four girls are ‘identifying’ as furries and have asked children and teachers to communicate with them by miaowing and barking."
'...others are concerned that it could signify a mental health issue or something else much darker...But you start to dig deeper and you realise something more manipulative is going on. Saying you are actually an animal — and teachers and pupils playing along with it — is teaching children to deny reality, the reality of what they can see in front of their faces.' BINGO! It's gaslighting!

My thoughts and opinions: The cause is the entertainment industry and social media but the blame lies squarely with the parents. Parents are supposed to be the gatekeepers and guardians of their children, not just their feeders. Sadly, the modern world thinks being a true guardian and protecting your children from the evils of the entertainment industry is not acceptable anymore. To be protective is to deny your children their right to access all the evils all their friends are allowed to access, apparently. Keeping up with the Jones's has become keeping down with the Jones's. Parents need to get back to parenting, gatekeeping and guarding and not allow any subversive material to entertain their children. And if their child becomes subverted to the point they think they're a cat, act like a cat, dress like a cat and demand other people communicate with them as though they are a cat...they need to realise they FAILED and they need to do some serious house-keeping in the form of removing all subversive material or access to subversive material from the home. If that means throwing away the child's smartphone, ipad, PC, games console, etc, then so be it. I say 'if' but no if is needed. That means throwing all those gadgets away and detoxing your child from the mind rubbish they have been consuming. Your cat might hiss, scratch and bite but, in time, they will thank you. Or ignore my advice and just stick with parenting a cat. Your choice!
